The winner of the Ford Models ‘Supermodel of the World - India’ has finally been revealed. Delhi girl Ninja Singh won the title at a glittering event. The glamorous Grand Finale of Ford Models ‘Supermodel of the World - India’, the modeling contest of the world was held at Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon and saw the girls walking the ramp in slew of rounds in Indian, Evening and Swim wear, designed by Gauri and Nainika & Shrivan and Narresh.  The extravagant show put together by Fever Entertainment.

The jury for this prestigious contest consists of Bipasha Basu, Manish Malhotra - Fashion Designer, Bharat Sikka – Photographer, Leila Alaoui- Ford Models, Sunil Sethi – FDCI, Mark Luburic - Anima Creative Management, Pearl Shah - Marie Claire, Ravi Perti - Olive Telecom, Ashish Gupta - Gold Souk, Vinod Nair - Group Fashion Editor, HT, Fleur Xavier – Model, Anil Chopra – CEO, Lakme.

Some other contests were: Lakme faces – Kanika Dev, Minora Parashar, Nitya Duella, TSJ fjord contest winner – Annaya Sarmah, Hindustan Times Reader Choice Award – Tara Kurien, , Fever Entertainment Face Award – Anjum Fakih.

Varieties of performances were witnessed by the pop-singer Anoushka Manchanda, Isha Sharvani and the enigmatic singer - Sunidhi Chauhan. In addition, the audiences was treated to an entertaining act involving artists changing costumes magically in quick succession set to foot-tapping music. The event was emceed by Gaurav Kapoor known to have the gift of the gab and Sarah-Jane Dias, actress and former beauty queen.

An all excited winner, Ninja Singh, said, “When they announced my name, I could not believe it, I was speechless. It has not sunk in yet! I would like to thank everyone who have supported me, encouraged me and specially Prasad Bidapa who groomed us and has made me look the way I do today. I am very excited and will try my best to make my country proud.”

Ninja Singh will now be a part of the prestigious global contest. Additionally, the winner will also walk the ramp at the next Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week organized by FDCI. The international winner will win the much coveted international modeling contract with Ford Models worth $250,000. The two runners up will receive contracts worth $150,000 and $100,000 respectively.

Post the national shortlisting for the freshest faces of the fashion industry, the 20 finalists went through a rigorous grooming and training sessions guided by industry experts like Prasad Bidapa – fashion choreographer, Milind Soman, Rahul Dev for fitness and Ambika Pillai for hair and make-up amongst others.
