The search for the most stunning faces is almost over. The top 20 models for the world’s most prestigious modeling contest have been finally chosen. The Ford Models ‘Super Model of the World’ auditions were held in all major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. There was an overwhelming participation from the beautiful girls across the country out of which the final 20 have been announced.
The selected models are : Anannya from Kolkata, Anjum from Mumbai, Ankita Sejwal from Delhi, Anubha from Bangalore, Jyotpriya Sud from Delhi, Kanika Dev from Delhi, Kavya from Chennai, Krithika Babu from Mumbai, Minora Parashar from Pune, Ninja Singh from Delhi, Nitya Duella from Delhi, pallavi Das from Delhi, Rhea from Bangalore, Ruchika Arora from Delhi, Shruti Iyer from Mumbai, Sudisha Mukherji from Mumbai, Tanya Mehta from Mumbai, Tara Kurien from Bangalore and Teesta Rajan from Delhi.
Each of these beautiful girls will get an opportunity of being a part of the prestigious global contest and of winning the most desirable ‘international’ modeling contract with the Ford Models worth $250,000. Also, the two runners up will receive contracts worth $150,000 and $100,000 respectively. Besides that, the winner from India will also get a chance of walking the ramp at the next Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week organized by FDCI.
The chosen 20 girls are now to undergo a rigorous training programme under the guidance of renowned fashion and fitness experts from the fashion industry. The grand finale is scheduled to be held on the June 15, 2011.
Ambika Pillai is conducting the grooming sessions on hair and make up and the fashion choreography is being done by the renowned choreographer Prasand Bidapa who is training the finalists to perfect their walk. Also, there are fitness sessions by Rahul Dev and Milind Soman for the beauties.
One of the lucky finalist talking about the competition said, “Being a supermodel is every girl’s dream, but only some can realize it. I feel privileged to be a part of this contest as it is a great platform for us to learn from the best in the industry and a perfect launch-pad in the world of fashion. The fact that we’re in, is yet to sink in. But considering the competition is going to be cut-throat, I will put in my very best.”
On the occasion, Agnes Ponarska of Ford Models said, “The response for Supermodel of the World from India has been overwhelming. India has immense talent and beauty and it was a challenging task for our esteemed jury to shortlist the 20 finalists.”
