So what is it that our idols do, that we don't which makes that crucial difference?
To solve our little brain-wracking question, we turned to the expert to understand the significance of the nitty-gritty's of make-up, the how's and why's and the do's and don'ts. Because admit it, no matter what, we have always missed out on the crucial details and had those nightmares of make-up gone wrong!!

Meenakshi Dutt, a renowned make-up artist, especially known for her make-overs comes to our rescue. According to her, what we generally miss out on are the basics of Make-Up ethics. So she goes over the points we must always keep in mind. And they are:

Do's Of Makeup

1. Always clean your face before starting your makeup.
2. Make sure you moisturize your skin before applying the makeup.
3. Base should always be natural & should blend with your skin beautifully.
4. Eye makeup should be blended well & eyeliner & kohl should be waterproof.
5. Powder, blusher should be only applied in the evening, cream blusher work better for the day.
6. Lipsticks should be always of good quality & should have SPF & moisturizing value in it.
7. Make sure the products you buy are of good branded quality & should be thrown after its shelf life is over.
8. Always apply lip liner in a natural shade before the lipstick as it gives the lips a definite shape.
9. Use a finishing spray after makeup to let your make up stay longer.
10. Always remember to groom your eyebrows as they too are a very important feature and need to be highlighted.

And the things one must never ever do:

Don'ts Of Makeup

1. Don't apply makeup on bare skin.
2. Don't try a new look on any special occasion for the first time, practice it before.
3. Never sleep with makeup on, always remove it before going to bed.
4. Don't apply mascara that has clumps in it.
5. Don't apply any eye-make up that is 3 months old.
6. Don't store old make-up; always throw them out after their shelf life has expired.

The crux of the matter is this that one needs to be regular and careful about the products and methods of application. When in doubt, you should always consult a make-up artist or a stylist to guide you in the right way.
